Today’s Booking through Thursday question:
Inspired by Bookplease
Whether you usually read off of your own book pile or from the library shelves NOW, chances are you started off with trips to the library. (There’s no way my parents could otherwise have kept up with my book habit when I was 10.) So … What is your earliest memory of a library? Who took you? Do you have you any funny/odd memories of the library?
I got my library card at a young age, because the community centre I was taking classes at also had a library branch. I’d frequently walk out with a stack of paperbacks before being picked up to go home; it was bliss. I was also fond of my elementary school library; they had interesting books and it was where I first discovered and became a fan of Monica Hughes books.
ETA: I didn’t necessarily go out of my way to visit, but I’ve gone to the NYC library (near Bryant Park if I’m remembering right). If I’m visiting somewhere and I pass a library, I’ll probably check it out like another city attraction.

We have a branch library close to home now, and I enjoy being able to chose my title and zip down there after it arrives.
My response to the BTT prompt is posted. Come visit.
